ARKITAIP
ABOUT
Founded by the Austrian mother-daughter duo Michi and Lea Wieser in 2018, Arkitaip is on a mission to prove that it is possible to create effortless and timeless garments without hurting the planet.
Cultivated on the principles of laissez-faire elegance, respect for nature and functionality, their garments are designed for individuals who confidently embrace their uniqueness. Crafted in a family-run atelier in Portugal and cut from the highest quality linen, a durable and eco-conscious material, Arkitaip’s pieces are made to be passed on from generation to generation.
All their fabrics are certified with the Masters of Linen®-mark, ensuring a responsible and sustainable production. By using certified, European-made linen (from Italy, Belgium, The Czech Republic and Austria), the brand supports regional craftsmanship and jobs while minimizing it’s carbon footprint through local sourcing. At the same time, it embraces one of the most sustainable raw materials in the world. The use of Masters of Linen®-certified fabric results in no additional irrigation beyond natural rainfall, relies on non-GMO seeds, avoids field retting and mechanical scutching and uses significantly fewer pesticides and fertilizer compared to other crops.
The London-based brand has eliminated plastic usage throughout production and shipping, opting for sustainable alternatives such as hang tags made from sugarcane waste, organic cotton neck labels and compostable cornstarch mailers. They remain committed to continuously finding new ways to reduce their carbon footprint
Arkitaip currently offers two seasons (resort & summer) per year while keeping a few “Arkitaip essentials” as wardrobe staples.
“'What I love most about Splash is the intimate and super professional atmosphere, making the show one of my personal annual highlights. Claire, Alex and their team are just the best!'
